What will I Learn?
This tutorial is modeled directly from my studio practice. I will many aspects of my design approach as well as an overview of my printing and hand building process.
A note about my process
Imagery, pattern & color are the most important elements of my work. I spend a significant amount of time designing my objects in paper before working in clay. For me, this stage is the most intellectually stimulating and exciting part of creating. By the time I am ready to work in clay, I simply "follow the plan".
I share this with you because I often find that when I teach workshops in person, there are usually a few students who are anxious to start working clay work right away. But I don't start with clay. I end with clay.
Designing, planning and preparation make up the bulk of my creative process. This tutorial walks you through my entire artistic approach in a linear way.
